Oktoberfest Volunteer Instructions
Thank you so much to our volunteers!
Please arrive and report to your designation 30 minutes prior to your shift so we can provide any onsite instructions/updates. If you are arriving to volunteer during the middle of the event, you may want to give yourself some extra time. I've attached a site map with markings and instructions for volunteer parking.
Your t-shirt and complimentary beer tokens will be available for you at the beer sales tent. You are welcome to wear your own company attire/shirt if you want to represent as a sponsor or whatever you want as long as it is comfortable attire. We recommend sneakers and breathable clothing.
See below for your specific shift instructions and the Map of the Event!
Set Up Crew Thursday:
Arrive at main tents and if you can, bring strong scissors or wire cutters to cut heavy duty zip ties needed to hang signs and a step stool or small ladder if you have one. I am bringing my tool belt to hold my contractor bag, zip ties, and cutters.
Set Up Crew Friday/Saturday:
Meet Eric Moore at entrance to Freedom Park parking lot so he can share site map with trucks/vendor space assignments and instruct you how to direct flow. We are telling vendors to empty vehicles and then quickly park in the FP lot and NOT keep vehicle on field. Also that ALL trash and empty boxes need to go in dumpster and NOT in our field cans.
Main Stage Hands:
Look for Mark Oberstadt at the Main Stage area for guidance
ID Bands/Token Sales:
Report to the Beer Sales Tent. All patrons need a wrist band obtained with ID verification in order to purchase tokens. We will be checking IDs at the same tent and usually separate those lines. Tokens are $7 each or 3 for $20. We will cut off sales at 8:45PM. An ATM (maybe two) will be on site and we may be accepting Venmo or using Square- you will get instructions on site at arrival. This year, the local breweries will each have their own tent (4 total breweries) next to the main beer tent, which will have two beer trucks one with domestic and the other with imported beers.
Beer Servers:
Report to the main beer tent (behind beer sales). Servers will spread out to run the aisles of spouts on the trucks (two trucks, each side open to total 4 rows of spouts). Each individual can only order 2 at a time and MUST have a wrist band and token. This year one truck will be imports and the other will be domestic. The local breweries will be in separate clearly marked tents this year and be serving their own beer. Signs will be up with the list of beers as well as a provided QR code. As an FYI, cups in the main beer tent are 14 oz and the brewery cups are 12 oz (higher ABV, more expensive). Thus, for every beer order make sure to pour into a new cup and not into a customer's used one.
Contest Registration:
Please report to the T-Shirt, Band Merchandise, and Contest Registration tent to help register people for contest sign ups.
